CyberGuard: Strengthening Youth Resilience Against Cyberbullying
The PRINCEPS Risk Intelligence Institute is collaborating with EduAge and Fifty-Fifty on the project CyberGuard, funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
Project description
CyberGuard addresses the growing prevalence of cyberbullying among young people in Europe, a phenomenon that affects up to a quarter of adolescents and has severe consequences for mental health, social well-being, and digital safety. Despite the near-universal daily use of the internet among EU youth, many organisations and youth workers lack effective tools to prevent, recognise, and respond to online harassment.
The project aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers, educators, and young people in Czechia, Bulgaria, and Greece by equipping them with practical skills in digital literacy, online safety, and early intervention. CyberGuard combines structured training, interactive learning, and cross-national cooperation to create sustainable methods for combating cyberbullying.
CyberGuard will deliver a comprehensive training programme for youth workers, support the development of youth-led anti-bullying initiatives, and produce a practitioner-focused Guide for educators and policymakers. These activities will be complemented by joint international workshops, knowledge-sharing events, and targeted dissemination efforts to ensure long-term impact across partner countries.
Through this initiative, we aim to promote a safer digital environment and empower young people to navigate online spaces with confidence, resilience, and critical awareness.
